Annual Seminar in Nephrology
As part of our CME and CNE activity, the Integrated Dialysis Facilities (HK) Ltd organises a nephrology seminar for the doctors and renal nurses in Hong Kong. [see here for past renal seminar]
In the opening speech, Dr Ho Chung Ping said Palliative Renal Care is receiving increasing attention in Hong Kong. Although the mainstay of treatment for patients with End-stage Renal failure is dialysis or transplantation, some patients may opt for palliative treatment. Those patients may have fears about dialysis, their bodies may be too weak for dialysis or they do not wish to impose a burden on their family. For this reasons, doctors or nurses should have adequate training in palliative renal care.
The seminar was a one-day function and was well attended by doctors, renal nurses and staff in holistic care centre.
