In 2010, the IDF and its partners organised a Professional Certificate in Renal Nursing 2010 in conjunction with the Open University of Hong Kong.  (Program No: CH023).  This programme provides students with specialized training in renal nursing (such as water treatment for haemodialysis, different kinds of dialyzers and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards, etc.). The course was completed in December 2010 and the course dinner was held in January 10, 2011.

Professional Certificate in Renal Nursing 2011

This year, the Integrated Dialysis Facilities (HK) Ltd is going to organize another Certificate Renal Nursing Course in conjunction with the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK), the Hong Kong Baptist Hospital and the Lions Kidney Educational Centre.

The course will commence on 22 June 2011 in the OUHK LiPACE Island Learning Center, address: 4/F, Shun Tak Centre, 168 Connaught Road Central, HK. It comprises 40 hours of lectures and 40 hours of practicum placement. This course will be taught in lecture format, using an interactive form of presentation and learning.  Instructors will identify and illustrate with examples the main concepts and techniques in relevant topics, and facilitate student discussion using cases drawn from students themselves.  In order to let the course students to have first hand experience in the management of renal patients, our course is the only course in Hong Kong with placement in a nephrology clinic.   Details of the program including the enrolment form can be downloaded from the Open University website: www.ouhk.edu.hk/lipace/renal
