Dialysis for Tourists Patients in Hong Kong

Dialysis patients in general can be able to travel to other countries if his medical condition is stable. However, it is imperative that he would first discuss with his doctor and make the arrangement beforehand.

For patients on haemodialysis, the booking had to be made in advance as most dialysis centres in Hong Kong cannot cope with a "walk-in" patient. At present the Integrated Dialysis Facilities is the only private satellite dialysis centre in Hong Kong which can take foreign renal patients. The Centre can also arrange dialysis to be done in other private hospitals in Hong Kong or other parts of Asia.

To facilitate communication, the Centre would send the potential patients an "Uniform Transient Dialysis Patient Information Sheet'.  The patient would need to fill in the form and send back to us by fax, email or by post.  We do not accept E-111 forms but we accept VISA credit cards.

For fear of spreading infection, all dialysis centres in Hong Kong need to know the hepatitis B and the HIV status of the patients.  The Integrated Dialysis Facilities (HK) Ltd has set up its own infection control guidelines and can take hepatitis positive patients for haemodialysis.

Our Facilities for Tourist Patients

In addition to our dialysis facilities, we have the following amenities for tourist patients

1. catering from nearby restaurants

The dialysis centre is located in downtown Kowloon and there are over 50 restaurants nearby.  Some restaurants can deliver meals to the Centre on telephone orders. One Japanese beef restaurant offered good food at a very reasonable price.

2. Convenient location

Our Centre is within walking distance from many hotels in town.  The Centre is situated right on top of Jordan MTR station.

3. The IDF trail

The Integrated Dialysis is situated in the heart of Yau Ma Tei with a lot of historic sites.  We have designed the IDF trail to link up all the places around our Centre.

Dear Dr Ho

It is with pleasure that I grant you permission to publish these photos of me on your website.
It is with great fondness that I recall my two visits to Hong Kong and the excellent care I received from both you and the wonderful nurses.
Four months ago I received a kidney transplant and I'm doing very well. So hopefully I will not need your services the next time I visit HK. I will be in HK in late December / January and would love to drop in and visit you all to show off my new kidney.

Thank you for your enquiry.

Kind Regards
