Polycystic Kidneys Disease is a condition in which a large number of cysts appear in the kidneys of the affected patients. The kidneys grow in size and in number. Many of the patients developed kidney failure at the age of 60. PCKD accounts for 10% of the patients needing haemodialysis. In February this year, we formed the PCKD support group inauguration and it became the first PCKD support group in Hong Kong.

The ceremony and the PCKD information day were attended by 100 PCKD patients and their relatives, medical personnel and members of the public interested in the disease.
